Without question, television has had a great impact in society and almost everyone with the financial means to own one does.  There seems to be something for everyone on television, whether you love the news, sports, drama, movies, or comedy.  Some people, like myself, use it as a relaxation tool while other use it as a baby-sitter.  Even if you are someone who preaches against it…it’s always on our minds. Way before Pharrell and crew became major on the scene, I would often define myself as a cool nerd.  I can still remember the countless hours of delight spent making slightly pornographic images run down the TV screen created on my Commodore 64.  I know that ’s really dating myself, but I willingly do so in an effort to prove my point.

Bad ethics in A-Rod ’story’
This letter originally appeared in The Jersey Journal on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

I’ve been a journalist for more than 20 years as I approach my mid-40’s.  And I am so weary of what “journalism” has become.  There was a time when ethics was number 1 in the news arena.  That was when there wasn’t conservative or liberal news channels and reporters, there was just news, straight down the middle news.

That was also a time when intelligence and education combined to determine who could claim the title of journalist because at least it guaranteed some sort of foundation of ethics, right to know and public good.

I think Sports Illustrated was wrong to air the A-Rod story because their motive was purely to be first, not right.  Here’s why. (more…)

There is a teahouse located on the top of a mountain in China and to reach the actually location of the teahouse, one must first take a tram up to the start of the “trail”.  And since there isn’t any proper path to the top, one must navigate along the side on a mountain with very little room for mistake.  And even though there’s a high risk of falling to your demise, the teahouse maintains a steady stream of customers, all eager to enjoy their favorite cup of tea! One day, I’m walking down the street and a guy comes up to me and says, “Do you have a dollar for four quarters?”  He held out his hand with four quarters in it.

Chicks are displayed outside a school in Changchun.  Chickens are popular pets with Chinese children although their life expectancy rarely exceeds a few days, with only a few surviving to be eaten by the family or kept as a family pet.

First let me say that I definitely had a “WTF” moment when I saw this image of Obama depicted as a saint on these votive candles.  Seriously, what does this mean and how will this be explained 3 generations from now?   Pandora’s Box on “what’s a saint” has definitely been blown wide opened for me. I can’t help but to wonder how or if this applies to other symbolisms throughout history.

Great video!  I thought it was very insightful as well as entertaining…HOWEVER I do want you to keep in mind a quote by fellow thinker Buddah which says, “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

And for the record, I think this is very disrepectful to monkeys…LOL!!!

Jersey City police rescued a 20-year-old Ohio woman Saturday after she made a frantic call to say she was being held against her will inside the apartment of a pimp at the Society Hill housing complex, officials said.

The man holding the woman, Percival R. Williams III, 31, of Lyon Court in Jersey City, was charged with promoting prostitution, human trafficking, criminal restraint, unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, certain person not to have weapons and receiving stolen property, officials said. When art meets commerce…LOVE IT!!!

The new Trident Iceni is a British made sports car powered by a GM sourced V8 turbo-diesel making 550 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and a ground shaking 950 lb-ft at just 1,800 rpm.  Trident claims this will thrust the 3263 lb. coupe to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds.  As if this isn’t impressive enough, the Iceni boasts 58 mpg at 70 miles per hour, and will run on 100% bio-diesel without any modification or warranty void.

 

Is this messed up…yes…but I also think it’s funny as hell…lol!!!

This is the last one…it was such a good conversation, that I had to post. It’s very rare for me to capture someone having a paradigm shift in real time due to my philosophies of life…and believe me when I tell you…they were ready to shut me down!!!

For all those who have read our books, this is a good example of how I apply them in life. Moments like this really get me amped to speak in front of people!!!

I know, I know, I know…it’s deep how shallow I can be.

First let me say that I’m in no way condemning the Inauguration of Obama, but I do believe in the concept of overkill.  When I read the article by Scott Mayerowitz of the ABC News Business Unit about how much money was spent, my mind initially went into entrepreneur mode and was like YES,  this is why I love this country, it will capitalize on any and everything!

Huang Chuncai is a 32 year old native from a remote village in China whose facial tumours initially weighed at 23kg.  Huang suffers from a genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis that effects the development and growth of nerve tissues.  Huang Chuncai recently underwent his second operation to remove the 10kg tumours hidden inside his face at a hospital in Guangzhou China.

I’m not claiming to be a medical expert, but I’m quite confident that his tumor didn’t get to be this size overnight.  Uhmm…moving forward I’ll be making doctor’s appointments for anything that’s bigger than a mosquito bite!
