“no one is original and no one will ever be. originality is a term for the watcher.”

from the TTM post the source of genius revealed

Very well said!  Since all things have an origin, one can always call into question it’s originality.

Pininfarina, who is famous for designing a number of the Ferrari cars, is developing an electric car with the help of French battery company Bollore.  They aim to make it available in Europe, Japan and America by the end of 2010.

Given the demand for the US produced Tesla Roadster, it’s hoped that the electric supercar market may help to drive other car producers to develop affordable electric cars in the near future.

the beauty of the human mind

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

TheThinkMovement.com

I believe that what is right is totally relative to perspective. The human mind can, will and does justify anything that it wants! There is no absolute right or wrong, a real scary thought for those who have a need to believe in absolutes.

The beautiful part of this way of thinking is (more…)

I love the fact that what Ray has done has no monetary value to it.  Clearly this is something that he wanted to do…and now he’s DOING IT!!!

Now what are your excuses for not getting your dreams out?

I think it’s cool he decided not to endorse either party, but let’s be real…OBAMA is the only intelligent choice.  McCain can’t even raise his arms over his head, and Palin is clearly not qualified…

This comment is what inspired me to start doing a “comment of the week”.  I just found this to be really really really funny.  Great job “Hmmm” in making me genuinely laugh this week!

Keep the comments coming…I really enjoy reading everyone of them!!!

Marlboros were originally marketed to women.  Advertisements went as far as having babies ask their moms to have a cigarette instead of scolding them.  It plays up the “women-being-hysterical” stereotype and also showed the changing expectations about good motherhood.

In today’s world, we can hardly believe that this was a real advertisement…but yep, it was!  A point to consider is at one time this advertisement was not deemed offensive and was seen as normal.  Take that same mindset of current advertisements.  Are there any that you think will eventually look as crazy as the Marlboro does know?

Please note: Political advertisements should be included!!!

Tap’dNY is a New York City bottled water company with a local twist and knack for honesty. They don’t travel the world from Fiji to France seeking water or offer the usual bottled water gimmicks. They work with NYC’s public water system to source the world’s best tasting tap water, purify it through reverse osmosis and bottle it locally, leaving out ludicrous transportation miles.

They claim that this is a honest and local alternative to thirsty New Yorkers, giving them a smarter choice: to drink their own (award winning) water.

So I strongly suggest that you really pay attention to your surroundings for the countless opportunities to explore.  And if you don’t see any…MOVE!

a very “corny” political statement

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

TheThinkMovement.com

Every year, Lebanon, Ohio farmer Bill Irons creates a design in his corn field.  This year, it’s a 12-acre maze with an election theme.

Irons creates his design the old-fashioned way.  He draws it out on graph paper, then enlarges it on 16 to 20 pages of graph paper that he tapes together and mounts on a board.

The corn field gets special attention, too.  It’s planted in two directions – like the intersections on a grid, he said.  The corn comes up extra thick that way.

When the corn starts growing, Irons gets out his tractor, and sometimes a hoe.  He grooms his creation the entire growing season.

Irons chooses not to use a GPS device that would guide him more easily through the cutting process. “I use my head and my hands,” he said.

what you see is what you get

Positive thinking is simply reacting positively to a negative situation.  Life at any time can become easy or difficult.  It all depends upon how you adjust yourself to it.

Although you cannot always control your circumstances, you can always control your own thoughts.  Things always seem to turn out best for those people who can make the best out of any situation.

So remember this…there is nothing either good or bad until your thinking makes it so!

A Surprisingly Special Business Book

One of the best, and most Surprising, business books of the year comes from a most unlikely source–Kanye West.

As I’m sure you all know by now, I read ‘em all, but Kanye’s mini-opus entitled “Thank You and You’re Welcome” is one of 2008’s fave finds, a concise handbook of common sense, common decency and street wisdom.

Like his innovative albums and concerts where he collaborates with other talent for a veritable “one + one = three” equation, Kanye wrote his book with J. Sakiya Sandifer of “Think Think Think and Think Again” fame. In its 50 or so pages, all black with varying styles and colors of neon font, the two offer theories, spout aphorisms and ponder conundrums (conundri?) like:

I wonder…would you rather have 100% from an average person or 10% from someone who is outstanding?

or, the favorite of everyone here at Surprise Central:

Believe in your flyness…conquer your shyness

Best of all, in true Surprise fashion–and in homage to its title–the book was given away as a parting thank you gift to everyone who attended Kanye’s concerts this past tour.  If you weren’t lucky enough to be part of that crew, you can pick up the book by vising Kanye’s site or emailing TYYW@wethinkllc.com.

nerdwithswag.com interview

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

TheThinkMovement.com

Enter the self proclaimed “Genius behind the Genius on Kanye West’s latest book “Thank You and Your Welcome“, Co-Author Sakiya Sandifer.  Our introspective banter veered from the key’s of life, to the latest iPhone applications, to possibilities of world peace, and among all these topics the denominator remained the same, a return right back to equilibrium.  This is a glimpse into the intellect of one of our generations truly gifted thinkers.  His first book Think Think Think and Think Again, a collection of personal euphemisms, catalyzed a movement and became foundation for the curriculum of the 2006-2007 Youth Development Program in Hoboken, NJ.  This is a man that sees the correlations between the ebb and flow of the universe and your personal struggles, a man that sparks people to get what they want out of their lives, and a man that ultimately sparked likes of Kanye.  NWS recently got a chance to chop it up with the guru on his success, and the nature of the universe, here are his truths.

hiphopstan.com, my favorite website…for today!!!

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

TheThinkMovement

I recently spoke with HipHopStan.com and other than a couple of misprints, I think the final product gives a very good insight of The Thinker Thoughts!!!

HHS: Thank you for calling; it’s an honor to speak to you. I have read your book/blog amongst other items and your though process is amazing, it’s different! You’re on a different level and different zone, which is good. I said to myself wow he is a great thinker, like an old soul.

Sakiya: Yeah I have been told that a lot, growing up. It seems like I‘ve been here before. I don’t know because to me it’s just my thought process. It’s not like something I’m trying to do it is just how I see the world.

HHS: Well tell me a little about yourself and your movement?

Sakiya: I’m Sakiya and I’m on a mission right now to impact the world and spark those trying to create positive changes in their life. It seems like that’s been consistent in my life and in all the things that I’ve done. Like you just said before… I have always thought different. About 4 years ago, I had a premonition that I would be in front of people. Then I started this journey to make sure I was giving something that was not just “sugar water. To me it would be so easy to come out with these cliché type things to say. I wanted to make sure that my ideas were precise. I truly want to be a spark for those trying to change their lives. This is the main reason on my blog; I don’t try to give my opinion to much because I don’t want to become the people’s deacon. I want to be that spark so they can come up with the answer themselves. I have come to learn as long as you are looking outside of yourself before it happens… it will never come. One of the things that I ask people in my lectures is that if you were to drop your keys in a dark basement; would you go outside in the light to go look for them? You have to be willing to get dirty and dig. That is the only way to be 100% sure that you’ll find your key. That really sums me up! I am a father of 2 girls that I think the world of. I think the universe gave me two daughters because of my love of women and it prevents me from getting lost in the sea of me. They are my shoreline.

HHS: Tell us about your premonition.
