Although I might not agree with what is said, I will defend the right to say it.

Rather in life or business, I find that there are two great offenses…one being to act suddenly without thought and the second is to not act at all…THINK ABOUT IT!!!

Fan death is a South Korean urban legend (also found in Japan) which states that an electric fan, if left running overnight in a closed room, can cause the death of those inside (by suffocation, poisoning, or hypothermia).  Fans manufactured and sold in Korea are equipped with a timer switch that turns them off after a set number of minutes, which users are frequently urged to set when going to sleep with a fan on.

This is so widely believed that the press report it as fact: The heat wave which has encompassed Korea for about a week, has generated various heat-related accidents and deaths.  At least 10 people died from the effects of electric fans which can remove oxygen from the air and lower body temperatures [Korea Herald, July 28, 1997]

MORROW, Georgia (CNN) — Jobless for nearly a year, Michael Rivers was about to walk out of his house a few weeks ago to catch the bus for another daylong employment hunt when a radio announcement stopped him.

“This is Ludacris, and I’m giving away 20 free cars. …”

The famous rapper was pulling an Oprah in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

The rapper announced that if listeners were able to pay the taxes, registration, tags and insurance, they should go to his nonprofit Ludacris Foundation Web site and write 300 words about why they deserved new wheels.

“And make it good,” Luda warned.

Four thousand people took him up on his challenge, and in a few days, more than 2,000 essays poured into the Nissan South dealership in Morrow, Georgia, that had teamed with the rapper on the used-car giveaway.

Dogs First Tamed in China — To Be Food?

Wolves were domesticated no more than 16,300 years ago in southern China, a new genetic analysis suggests—and it’s possible the canines were tamed to be livestock, not pets, the study author speculates.

“In this region, even today, eating dog is a big cultural thing,” noted study co-author Peter Savolainen, a biologist at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

“And you can also see in the historical records as far back as you can go that eating dogs has been very common” in East Asia.

“Therefore, you have to think of the possibility that this was one of the reasons for domesticating dogs.”

I woke up this morning thinking about my dreams and made the decision to do at least five things today towards making them come true.  It seems that my focus is always heighten on holidays when most people aren’t working.  I feel it gives me a mental advantage.

Since my first business venture in 1995, I’ve always looked at holiday as an interruption into my work week.  One lesson that my journey has taught me for sure is that nothing will be handed to me.

It just really comes down to who wants it the most AND is willing to out work everyone else in order to get it.  Trust me when in tell you my fellow thinkers, there are no days off when chasing YOUR DREAMS!

I’ve met plenty of extremely talented people in my day who unfortunately aren’t willing to put in the work to become successful in life…and I define “successful in life” as simply living out YOUR DREAMS!

I often wonder if having a successful life is meant for everyone or just a chosen few…what do you think?

NOTE: I purposely didn’t reveal what my five things are because the intent is for you to find your own things to do that will help you towards living out YOUR DREAMS!!!

The story is this: a girl was out with friends having drinks.  A guy approaches her and won’t leave her alone saying how cute she is.  She finally gives in and hands the guy her business card to get rid of him.

PLEASE listen to the not one, but TWO voicemails this guy left.

After hearing them you can clearly see why she didn’t call him back – instead she called in to the Z103.5 morning show & had them play this on the air.

This is clearly one of the funniest lack of thought process ever!!!

Now what can’t you do?!

The first thing that will contribute to reaching your goal is that you simply want to reach it badly enough.   You must learn how to desire with sufficient intensity if you want success.

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (CNN) — Michael and Steven Roberts didn’t have two quarters to rub together a couple of decades ago. Now, the two African-American business leaders estimate their holdings — from hotels to TV stations — are worth $1 billion. One St. Louis hotel they own once barred black people.

“Black folks need legacy. We have to have examples of successes in order for us to be able to let the generations to come know that many of the successes that occurred by African-Americans in this country can be seen and pointed out and can be emulated,” says Michael Roberts, the chairman and CEO of The Roberts Companies.

Michael and his brother Steven, who is three years younger, stroll through their office, complete with wood-paneled doors, large leather chairs and a pool table fit for a king. Their office sits along a busy street in St. Louis called Kingshighway.

“They used to call us the Kings of Kingshighway, because we own so much on this street,” Michael Roberts says.   (more…)

Being a person who’s always trying to serve the greater good, I’m always attempting to find worth in all things.  Trust me when I tell you my fellow thinkers that this isn’t the easiest task to take upon.  Especially when in comes to helping others get their ideas out.

To date, I’ve never had anyone tell me what they thought was their worst idea…and they’re seldom opened to the fact that their “good” idea just might suck.  Now of course I’m quite grateful because I would be forced to find another way to support myself if not for it.

Never one to complain without offering a solution, I leave you with this thought to ponder…many great ideas are not executed, and many great executioners are without great ideas.  One without the other is worthless!

An Australian quadriplegic has won the right to die. An Austrailian high court has ruled that 49-year-old Christian Rossiter has won the right to refuse food and water and can be allowed to die. A Perth nursing home took the case to court after Mr Rossiter told staff repeatedly he wanted to die.

The Supreme Court of Western Australia declared that Rossiter’s care givers had a legal obligation to comply with his request to stop feeding him. The court ruled Rossiter may order his care givers at a Perth nursing home to stop feeding him via a tube in his stomach.   (more…)

Unfortunately, most of the people that I speak with don’t quite understand the power of the words that they choose.  I say this  because everything that’s said is an affirmation…not some of the things…BUT EVERYTHING!

I’ve never met a successful person who wasn’t very in tune with the power of words. This is because they all know that it’s the truest indicator of how someone thinks…and no one can ever do more than they can think.

Understand this my fellow thinkers, the words that you choose to express your thoughts are the same words that will create the choices that you’ll have in your life. Simply put, your language is and always will be the limitation of your world.

THINK ABOUT IT!!!

I’m not sure why, but a games company has launched a new game of Russian roulette where a toy gun bursts a balloon against the players’ heads.  I would’ve loved to have been a part of  the focus group on this one!!!

What does it say about the person who not only plays it themselves…but also wants you to play along?  And more importantly, what does it say about you if you do?

There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality…AND THEN there are those who turn one into the other…which one are you???

…or should I say more media bullshit that’s simply not supported by the facts!!!

Having visited the Netherlands a couple years ago, I can personally account for the facts presented at the end of this video.  What stood out to me the most wasn’t the drug or sex shops, but the large amount of elderly people riding bikes.  Now that’s something that should be adopted here in the States.

The structure is O. M. Ungers’ “Galerie der Gegenwart”—or it was before projection artists at Urbanscreen got involved. Their vision of “dreaming” architecture gave the textureless, motionless facade a dynamic new look. Some of the illusions work better than others, but overall it’s an incredible effect.

Handerpants – underpants for hands.  They promise finger support, and are touted as a “solution to a problem you didn’t know you had.”  Manufacturers Archie McPhee say: “Once in a generation a product comes along that redefines how the world works.”

Uhmm…I’m just not sure if this is one of them…LOL!!!

Bennett Cerf, Dr. Seuss’ editor, bet him that he couldn’t write a book using 50 words or less.  The Cat in the Hat was pretty simple, after all, and it used 225 words.  Not one to back down from a challenge, Mr. Geisel started writing and came up with Green Eggs and Ham – which uses exactly 50 words.

Nothing lasts forever. While we know this, how much do we keep it mind as we move through our daily lives?

Recently, I’ve been contemplating the gross disintegration and looming demise of one of my most impactful relationships to date.  As useless as it often is, regret sometimes enters my mind and I wonder how much time was wasted trifling over the more frivolous details as opposed to enjoying and celebrating the great aspects of the relationship. Sakiya Sandifer is an author, motivational speaker and philosopher.  With his innovative ideas, uncompromising energy and unorthodox approach, he has received much success and acclaim and is steadily moving closer to being one of the great thinkers of our time.  MESH Culture caught up with Sandifer to talk about the man, the movement and the mission.

First off you don’t seem like the typical philosopher or motivational speaker as young black men are largely underrepresented in this industry, why did you choose to get into this profession and has it been hard to succeed and get to the point where you are?

It was back in 2005 2006, a voice inside me said, “You’re going to be in front of people, so get ready!” I really didn’t know what it meant, yet it felt so right to me that I decided not only to listen to it, but to embrace it.  I was slowly but surely becoming obsessed with being in front of people to share my ideas in a verbal form.
