who limits you?

February 25th, 2009

I recently read this great quote by fellow thinker, Les Brown’s which says, “Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.” Powerful stuff right?  I say that because it caused me to think!!!

Now of course I believe there should be some limitations in life or there would be certain chaos. But for the most part, limitations as we know them are merely opinions.  Unfornutely these opinions are not often originated by us, but more accepted by us.  And the source usually comes to form that opinion because of one of two reasons…1) they can’t do it or 2) it’s a threat to them if you do.

So I ask you my fellow thinkers…who should limit you?  And more importantly, why?

You said it. People are limited by fear and uncertainty, which only we can allow in our heads

limit is the opposite of freedom right? We have all the freedom in the world, its our choice what we do with it. and whatever we choose not to do with it is this manmade concept of ‘limit’

i actully limit myself-dependin on what is dere to limit on. i have freedom i have the riqhts to do what i please without breakin the law. so i belive. my limits are what i choose dependin on what im doin. i belive theres limits. but we dont see it like dat. we see it as laws. we are able to be sucessful why not suceed at it. its our choice our life we control it. we got to do whats best for our self not others.

if anyone should limit me, it should be myself for whatever reason it may be.

because if other people limit me, they take away my freedom.

The other day, I thought of this:

If it doesn’t matter what others believe if you don’t believe it, then it shouldn’t matter what others believe if you DO believe it.

That thought gives me the freedom and incentive to play and live in my own world, but, first, to create it. No limitations.

As Tony Robbins likes to say, “I will not be denied!”

I think limits are placed because of the approach to conventional education, which views the mind as an empty box waiting to be filled. Maybe we should view education from a different perspective where skills we’ve “learned”, are really things that are already embedded in us – we just needed a teacher to pull it out of us. The same goes for achieving greatness. It’s already inside each and everyone of us; we just need to find something or someone to pull it out of us.

There are no limitations to the mind except those that we acknowledge – Napoleon Hill

I believe we create our own limitations depending on how we feel about something or how someone else feels about it. I think sometimes we value other people opinion’s more then our own and that in itself can limit us. We are who we hang out with, which I believe is true, you have the power to uplift yourself or become influenced by your surroundings. Maybe the difference is do you know it or not.
