Alexey Titarenko’s “City of Shadows” is a series of haunting, long-exposure shots of street-scenes in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The long exposure-times turn the people in the shots into ghosts and suggestions of motion.

Funny, this picture makes me think of how we are moving so fast and ‘crashing into’ each other and how the world around us remains ‘the same’, while we are rushing around. We still get 24 hours a day, the world keeps spinning and the buildings around us still stand.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it… My best friend says that it makes her think that we all have our own unique energy around us and we leave a piece of it wherever we go. Makes you wanna be more discerning about where you go LOL.

It makes me think that we’re all ghost amongst eachother. How we’re in constant motion and so close to one another yet none of acknowledge the other.

    what, the, fuck.

that’s how i feel. i need to see the rest of this “city of shadows” series. because it is the coolest, ghastliest thing i’ve seen. tell the homies who make resident evil or gears or war or one of those scary games to holler @ young alexey. he’ll evoke exaaaactly what they need to scare the gamers shitless.

This makes me think of LOST. I keep looking for a Polar Bear in the backround. Its actually rather creepy. I would have to see the rest of the series to comment further.
