it seems to me that people think that only people who are very different from others in personality, behavior or interests, are truly “themselves”…

Likely because its mostly true…. theres a large population of people who think they are being themselves but arent aware of the many things that influence us to conform with a norm that society dictates… standing out is so subliminally frowned upon that as much as i try to be aware of it i keep noticing how its affected me

i just look it like our life experiences differ so much that if everyone was truly “themselves” they WOULD would be that different. (tho if that were the case, it wouldnt be seen as different)

and i guess that the people that DO stand out, since they’re gonna be scrutinized anyway say f*** it and go balls to the wall with it…. like homeboy… lol
