A woman performs self-immolation in Luxemburg.

Self-immolation, while tolerated by Buddhism and Hinduism, was practiced by monks, especially in India for Sati throughout the ages for various reasons, including political protest, devotion and renouncement.

Something to ponder…why is it always the follower who goes to such extreme to express a belief instead of the leader?

I remember reading this story last year, and my jaw just dropped. And my response to your question is this: “Followers follow and Leaders Lead”…A follow is basically going to go with the system, not necessarily based on their on facts and opinions, but 9 times out of 10, they’ll normally make their decision based off of another’s AND without having full knowlege sometimes of what they’re doing…sadly expecting others to follow them AS they follow. The Blind leading the Blind. Leaders on the other hand (most of the time) stand by they decision, knowing that whatever point and/or direction that they’ve chosen to go in, whether people are down with it, agree or disagree with it via; something they done or said…..they’re certain that’s the BEST one. They don’t shay or waver at all from it.

We’re so collectively jaded and disillusioned that I’m sad to say, this will have no effect on the direction of her cause. It’s moving and powerful to the individuals who don’t dictate the change.

first off, this could be the best blog on the internet.

second off, this is fucking insane. but i guess it’s for a cause. but how about after homeboys put that fire out…and you still have intense 1st to 3rd degree burns all over you? was it worth it?

    i’m just asking.

IF YOU LOOK IN THE FIRST TWO PICTURES, IT SEEMS STRANGE THAT THAT MAN IS HOLDING SUCH A GIANT CHAIN. IT SEEMS TO REPRESENT THE WOMAN’S BEING CHAINED TO HER BELIEFS AND GOING TO SUCH EXTREMES. JUST A THOUGHT.
