Now if I saw him get hit or pushed, then that's a different story. I guess that's just the result of living in the city. I can't say that if I saw a man sprawled out on the ground I'd call or help; I believe I might have the same sense of "what do you want me to do?" that these people had. HOWEVER, the people who should really be examined are the ones who were standing around LOOKING at the man, aware of what happened and what was happening. The passersby are really less at fault. This is merely an example of what happens when you're in your own world. There are so many other examples of when we could reach out and help, but we choose not to intervene and give all that's required: a little.
