Take for instance some people on "idol" they really get hurt when the jury tells them they can't sing (and some really make a fool of themselves). And they don't understand it, because everybody close to them told that he or she could sing very beautiful (they were being supportive). Maybe a stupid example:) but it was the first thing that i thought about... Being Supportive helps the person feel valid on their mistake (assuming it is a mistake) but the minute it goes wrong they say you should have been honest with them... So be honest if you want to be at peace with yourself and supportive if you fear what you might say could be taking out of context.
