Now, I’m quite sure if they were to say “Black Beauty� you mf’s would be applauding, but since it says “white beauty� it’s evil and destructive? And nobody sees a problem with that huh?

The product is for those who want to achieve a certain look. They didn’t say this is how everyone needs to look…they didn’t say this is the standard of beauty…it’s a fucking Commerical…it’s marketing. if its not for you, then here’s a radical idea…don’t buy the shit.

Actually, I would only applaud a company that was marketing the idea “Black Beauty” to Black people because the idea then would be to promote a sense of pride, not of shame and inferiority. It is completely destructive and insensitive, as well as evil, to market the concept of White beauty being at the top of the hierarchy to people who are naturally darker complected.

What’s being criticized isn’t the product alone. In that case, if the shoe doesn’t fit, don’t wear it. What is rightfully deserving of criticism, however, is the message being packaged with the commercial in order to obtain sales. The whole premise of that video was to indicate that if she were a white beauty and not a pink beauty, her man would’ve returned to her.

Read anything about copywriting or marketing and you’ll understand that emotional impulses sell products. Why? Because emotions often times overrule logic. If you think that the emotional card Pond’s is pulling here is level and not underhanded, then think again.

True, those being marketed should use critical thought when watching this commercial, but its important to understand the historical importance of complexion in India.

Why is it that the only people/entities that get applauded for causing detriment to others are companies and then it’s written off as “smart business” if the venture is successful??

This ad is crazy! “White beauty”? LMFAO! That other woman (playing the dumpee) was fuckin’ gorgeous. And what’s crazier is that she is much lighter than many Indian women (millions and millions and more millions of them), so imagine how they must feel by seeing something like that? Let’s just say that product is going to sell pretty well in India. The Man never ceases to enforce his plan.

“White beauty to give you a radiant pinkish- white glow–pale white or pinkish white…you choose”. LMAO! I mean, it’s not funny, but it’s so ridiculous you can’t help but laugh. And then the sad, depressing music in the background. Wow.
